Quilting 101 (The Basics) 
Discover how easy it is to get started quilting - or to refresh your basic skills. Learn about rotary cutting, sewing an accurate 1/4" seam, chain piecing, sandwiching, straight machine quilting, and making a binding - all  while making a four-patch table runner.   The cost of this class includes a $20.00 deposit toward your fabric purchase for the class. 
This class will be offered over the course of four Wednesday evenings.

Mitered Binding with Piping Technique 

Are you interested in new techniques?  This is for you!   Shelley will show us how to make and insert piping with the binding to eliminate hand sewing.  This class is a "technique" class and we will provide a fabric kit. 

You will require a "Pin Tuck" foot  and a "Stitch in the Ditch" foot for your machine for this class. If you need to purchase these feet please let us know the make and model of your machine.

Design With Lines - Machine Quilting

Whether you are a confident beginner or an advanced machine quilter, you will find this class packed full of valuable information.  The Design with Lines technique was developed by Pam Clarke of Spokane Wa.  Junanne will share Pam's convenient, proven and helpful methods of creating outstanding designs.

This technique class will teach you to make your projects come alive with exciting texture and color.  Learn to decorate and embellish your quilts with thread using free motion machine embroidery.

Meandering Magic - Machine Quilting

You've begun your journey into machine quilting and you want to learn more. With meandering magic you will learn some wonderful designs that begin with a large meander. You will be amazed at what you can do. It is just like magic! These designs can be used as an all over pattern on your quilt or for background designs.  In this class we will make samples of some of the possibilities that you can in turn use on your own quilts.

Create stunning, one-of-a-kind treasures that combine traditional quilt blocks, machine quilting and embroidery!
 
Skill Level One
Turn a basic nine patch block into a beautifully dressed up Candle Mat in this beginner class.
All you need are basic sewing, pressing and cutting skills using a mat, ruler and rotary cutter.

A great time to get together and finish up those Cotton Tree projects!   Leave the ringing telephone and household chores behind you. Bring your lunch and enjoy the day.  Coffee is on the house!  We have spaces available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in both stores. There will be a draw for a preselected fat quarter each time.  Prepay for 10 times in advance @ $2.00 per time or $5.00 each time you attend.

 Class Policies
  • To reserve your spot in class, register in person, phone or by mail with check, cash or credit card (Visa or Master Card) . Store credit will be given if you cancel (7 days prior to class).   Thereafter there will be no refunds.  If you cannot attend you may find a replacement. If there is not sufficient enrollment you will be given a store refund or credit. We reserve the right to cancel a class if there is not a minimum of 5 students.
  • Make sure that your sewing machine is in good working order. Class instructors cannot repair or fix your machines. 
  • When classes last an entire day, we have allotted lunch break. You can bring your own, order in, or go out. We have a small refrigerator and a microwave.
  •  Supply list will be available at registration. Our expertise in color coordinating fabric and selecting proper tools is part of your lesson before class starts.
  • Patterns & books may not be photo-copied because of copyright laws. Let's help to keep these talented and creative designers in business. 
  • Our friendly staff is happy to assist you in selecting fabrics for your project. Be sure to come in well ahead of  your class for your fabric and supplies.
